Spring 2019
Spring 2019
Hi, could any "Friends of" or other regular visitors give the dates of any forthcoming exercises and happenings that will be taking place at Leeming this spring. Getting wifey to sit through a day of Grobs and Hawks is getting harder (leaving her at home isn't an option).
Re: Spring 2019
When visiting ATC with FLAG in Oct. was told that some of the Lossie Typhoons would be operating from Leeming in the New Year whilst runway resurfacing was in progress there so there is the prospect of heavier metal arriving soon which should be more exciting for her. I do have some sympathy with her as the last time I tried to spend an afternoon there it was so quiet I gave up and went to Linton to watch the Tucanos doing circuits + bumps!Billyzinc wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 9:41 amHi, could any "Friends of" or other regular visitors give the dates of any forthcoming exercises and happenings that will be taking place at Leeming this spring. Re: Spring 2019
I was walking about 3miles North of Leeming yesterday . Between 13.10 and 13.30 two very , very noisy planes took off . But, to my frustration, I couldn't see them. Thye sure weren't Hawks... anybody there to tell me what I missed? Typhoons ?

Farmers field at Leeming has a new fence erected and signs saying private keep out
Re: Spring 2019
Thanks Chris, was hoping it was a temporary dummy spitting phase, but after seeing a sizeable European contingent moving straight through his crops a few years ago I'm not surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised...Chris Procter wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 10:31 amFarmers field at Leeming has a new fence erected and signs saying private keep out
Sounds like this may be the shape of things to come with the increased popularity of the hobby and little or no regard paid to the local land owners..
