Hi
If anyone notes the movements of the rafales can you post a reply to this topic. I need to book a day of work but want to see if I can get a pattern emerging of times/day of the movements. I know all four flew yesterday. It would be interesting to know if any fly around 5pm as I can make it to leeming after 4pm. Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark
I was there this morning, and two departed at 11.00am, they were followed by the second pair 11.15am, also six of the eight Typhoons deployed also departed at the same time...one was in HAS 21, leaving one on the ramp...I heard them recover via the radio about an hour later...There was then a lot of noise OTT Northallerton at about 2.15pm...but what was producing the noise wasn't noted as the cloud base was about 1000 feet!!!! But whatever it was it wasn't Hawks as I can recognise their sound as I hear it everyday!
Hope that helps, if I get a chance tomorrow I'll try to let you know times
Regards
Paul G

That's very useful - thanks. So it might also be worth a look on Saturday 16th? Mirage 2000s flew on a Saturday when they were in, coinciding with a French tanker being up from Mildenhall.

Big possibility, may also be for support ? Worth looking at the notams again early Saturday morning to see if the airfield is open.

Although I'm hundreds of miles away a quick look at a local weather forecast suggests a Northerly wind, I'd therefore suggest they will be taking off to the North, although I stand to be corrected by an on-site correspondent.........

That's correct..I'm just leaving Leeming now.
The French and RAF were out at 10.30-11.45.
The cockpits are up on the Typhoons so looking good for this afternoon.
Weather wise it's overcast and some drizzle but not that bad
