Any info about Swiss Cougars? They are listed for Yorknite in the Payerne 2022 calendar this week and the next

Thanks for the run-down Focal Plane
They usually do a daylight familiarisation first for the new/ low hours pilots
Once they have done the intro. flight's they will start night flying, all standard practice for this kind of Det.

Swiss Cougar x3 was mentioned as attending Yorknite back at the end of October, they arrived later than the FA-18's last year and ended up leaving early due to operational requirements. The only arrival date I had wrote Down was the 16th, with an arrival time of 5pm at Leeming, no idea at all if this info was correct but guess we will find out tomorrow.

Good afternoon,

Was anyone on the group present at Leeming yesterday who might be able to tie-up the callsigns of the first wave, circa 14:30?

I believe three pairs launched; J-5005/5001, J-5003/5016 and J-5018/5013. Of these I believe at least three, but most likely four, launched as "Talent/Talon 21-23 (24?). Of these J-5005/5001 were "21 and 22". Can anyone confirm the others and perhaps the other pair`s callsign.

This morning I`ve been looking at flight schedules from Bern/Belp for the expected departure of the Helvetic ERJ-290 to support the mid-exercise swap over and it would seem, unlike last year, it might not happen until tomorrow.

At present the following is showing on Flighradar 24 schedules:

HB-AZH dep. Zurich Kloten 16:55 - 17:10 local for Bern/Belp 25.11.22
HB-AZH arr. Bern Belp 17:25 local 25.11.22

HB-AZH dep. Bern Belp 09:00 local 26.11.22 for Teesside
HN-AZH arr. Teesside 10:00 local 26.11.22

https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airp ... e/arrivals. (Click "show all arrivals")

As it`s normal for this aircraft to preposition at Bern from Zurich and no flight numbers are shown, I suspect this is the aircraft, but don`t shoot the messenger.

Based on this it MAY BE a normal flying day at Leeming today, bearing in mind it doesn`t open until 12:00 local.

no action Monday 28th due to bad fog.
4 hr round trip for nothing. It would be helpful if well paid meteorologists knew what they were doing

Hi All. A question regarding the Swiss F/A-18C's if I may. Are they left outside at night, or are they put in HAS's, or a hangar, please?

Thank you!

Cheers, David

The Hornets are all in the northern HAS site. So generally not visible unless flying. They have signs up so aircraft allocation to HAS is fixed. Those I know are:1

HAS21 J-5013
HAS20 J-5238
HAS19 J-5018
HAS18 J-5001
HAS17 J-5005
