Not from my source, but a third party advises 1300. Not sure if anything else is planned before then. They did a bit this afternoon....

Today. Was. Stunning.

End of.

6 hours of fog lifted just in time to catch all four specials, the two seater and several others bashing the circuit - pure magic!

Needless to say, photos to come!

Great to see the camo special out and about, and they were using 22 even though the wind was favouring 04 - if that was in deference to the huge crowd at the 22 end then fair play RAF!
A thought that crossed my mind too - the wind was strongly for 04 at some points!

I've put a photo up in the photo section if anyone is interested (shameless plug... )

Clarification please!

I apologise for not going back through the previous twenty pages, but I am guessing most of it is outdated anyway.

I am sure I will not be the only one checking this thread for up to date information.

Could somebody (in the know) please summarise the situation regarding the flypast proper and practice. In terms of times, dates and airfields visited.

I have been trying to follow todays news with NOTAM's etc, but have ended up more confused than I started.

TIA

Phil

Well you just could not have asked for anybetter today,
the pilots really played for all the crowd down at 22, and what about that sunset, just perfect.

All,
Current plan as at 1730L tonight is, 16 ship practice tomorrow, final flypast Weds. Timings & locations correct as above for the big day.
Contingency plan in place on Weds if wx is unsuitable.

Where have you got this from though Beanie? have the CAA got it wrong? seems like there is too much confusion for a final flypast.

Thanks!

Has anyone parked in the farmers yard at the end of 22? If so is there much space, will be arriving at Cot late tomorrow morning, just wondering if I'll be fighting for parking space.
There were only a few cars parked up and there is plenty of room. The parking is right next to the Viking Way public footpath.

I'm sorry guys, but in response to my question I have received three contradictory replys, which is not really a step forward.

Does anybody have any first hand information?

At the moment the most reliable source has got to be the NOTAM.

Does the practice include all the stations or is it just local?

Regards

Phil

My info is first hand from one of the guys who will be 'stick in hand' tomorrow & Weds.
I'm not in the business of posting duff info (see 22 jets over Wales thread here on FC)

I think the best thing to do is turn up on both days (tuesday and wednesday) to be sure of seeing some british harriers fly for the last time! :(

Richard (who was there today, totally frozen and even more confused as to what the plan is regarding the next 2 days :S )
Richard

Captain Scarlet is indestructable, you are not! Remember this, do not try to imitate him.

Please do not be offended, that certainly was not my intention.

Just trying to figure out when I need to head out to see this at Waddington.

Unfortunately spending two days out is not an option, I might manage 2 hours.

Just to confuse / help things further!

The birdscarer van came over to us at the 22 end this afternoon and clearly said there is no flying tomorrow, the airfield is not operational and they have not been asked to come in and work.

My farther was in the car at the top of Hooby lane, two RAF chaps came round telling people of the arrangements for WEDNESDAY, regarding parking and a Burger Van being on site.
They also mentioned that the last RAF Harrier sortie will be on Fri 17th December.

Finally, a great day today, I have never seen so many people at the 22 end.
