WAVE - When did it open?

Post by reaper493 » Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:34 am

Trying to find some concrete evidence about when they WAVE officially opened.

I've seen 1995 mentioned, and then a specific day in 1996 - 29th March, both in print.

Was anyone around in the mid 90s who can confirm either way please?

In my head it was always summer 1995 that it opened!

Cheers

Mike

Haha Malc was abit marmite but Linda was (is) a lovely lady

Shame they had to give it up, it's certainly been a strange place for the past 20yrs with cliques, hangars-on and disabled security forces driving around the carpark threatening to have you removed if you use their rubbish bins!!

Not sure what you mean on this, but it was set up between the RAF, North Kesteven DC, and Key Publishing, IIRC. Showground's your man for this though as he was involved.

Hey Paul, I'm good thanks,

I'm not sure to be honest, lost contact when they left the WAVE, can't remember if they were ever on Facebook.

But like you, I remember her being diagnosed with something and that's maybe why they gave it up.

Maybe someone local like Graham (Thor) or Rick Sleight would know.
