Waddington Based Updated 05.07.23

Post by reaper493 » Fri Dec 31, 2021 11:09 am

Hi all,

Just updated the Waddington Wave site with current locations of aircraft.

There are currently zero Shadows on base, with 3 at Aldergrove, 2 at Hawarden and 1 at Bournemouth.

https://waddingtonwave.co.uk/airfield-i ... ement-log/

Some of the Sentinels are still viewable, will try find out which are over the weekend.

Hopefully be able to continue my logs from January.

All the best,

Mike

Hi, thinking of a long drive up from south coast on Tuesday to get my last sentinel, does anyone know if there are still viewable please.
Many thanks Andy

4 of the 5 were parked out earlier this week.

ZJ693 was parked down near the Wave (CG2).

2 more are in the center of the field, near where what's left of ZH107, unsure if they are able to be read off.

Plus one more down the far end, possibly ZJ692 (CG5). - If going to look at this one, stick to the track that leads down to the crash gate, the farmer isnt too happy with people in the field.

Hope that helps.

**692 has just been given permission for an engine ground run, I think it was EW?

Possibly Zulu Juliet 692 or Zulu Zulu 692 if the controller misheard.

For anyone interested, all five sentinels are outside at the moment.

1 opposite the crash gate just south of the wave, the other four in the ACMI parking pans - viewable by walking south on the A15 for a few hundred yards.

When I visited last Wednesday there were three Sentry's parked out. One was ZH101, but I couldn't see the others due to air quality. One was a plain jet, parked next to '101, whilst the other had 54Sqn markings.
Could anyone help me with these two serials please?
Thanks

The 54sqd jet is 107.
102 has been parked in the far corner for months - is that your third, or is 102 extra to those three?

If so, it's probably 106 as this was having engine runs last week.

The 54 Sqn marked jet is ZH107

Can’t confirm the plain jet, however if it was parked down at the far end of the apron next to the Vulcan, it would have been ZH102 which has been stored there for several months.

Small question. Is ZJ693 still outside or now parked inside?

Thanks!
