Waddo June 3rd 2021

Post by Ollie » Thu Jun 03, 2021 6:32 am

Currently, the RC-135 on the right of the sentinels (looking from the wave) is ZZ664, with ZZ665 on the left of them (again, looking from the wave).

There is people around 664 currently, and the jet has no engine covers on, crew door open and stairs leading up to it.

Waddo is currently crash cat 3, needs to be a 7 for an Rc135 move, although the signs look good.

Reaper,
Is the crash cat is broadcast on the ATIS radio ?
Is the ATIS only available on radio or is it passed on via a web / internet service

Hi Paul,

Yea it's broadcast on the ATIS, they call it Aerodrome category, or crash category, or ICAO followed by the number, don't think anything is broadcast over the web.

Its normally a min of 3, which Shadows can operate under, 5 is standard for daily ops, it used to be 6 for Sentinel, and then 7 for E3s/RC135.

I think it was 8 when the Reds were here, and 9 when the AN-124 visited.

Thanks Mike,
Understand the category system, all about the number of fire crews, their training standard, vehicles and equipment available to deal with any emergency.
The standard being higher for the larger aircraft and the number of people on board (POB)
The days of Waddington being a 24/7 Master Diversion Airfield are long gone.

Just called at the WAVE and due to the sun direction had no chance of logging anything so any help much appreciated.
3 x Sentinels (head on)
2 x RC-135's (head on)
1 x Beech King Landed around 1635
1 x Beech King (white)
1 x Beech King (grey)
2 x Sentry's with radomes (one possibly 02).

Thanks
Wayne....

3 Sentinels should be 693 in the middle, then 690/694 either side but unsure which is which.

ZH102 is parked in the corner of alpha, ZH107 is parked on bravo behind the Vulcan.

ZZ417 R1+ landed at 1635.
ZZ419 R1+ landed earlier and parked on alpha.
Both on re delivery from Hawarden, both white.
Grey shadow will be ZZ416.

ZZ507 R1+ (white) is also present but hasn't moved in a while, believed to be in the hangar.

RJs will be 665 and 666.

Mike thanks so much for that little lot, normally try my best to eyeball the reggies but no chance this evening. Spent the day at Coningsby and then after Waddo quick trip to Scampton, just for the Red on the gate.

Thanks again...
Thanks for any help
