"...In commemoration of the few..."
A spitfire will undertake a flying display at RAF Waddington, on Wednesday 15 September, commencing 1100L.
Hope the weather is good.

it was for the battle of Britain function in the sgt's mess. Food was being served at 7.30 so I imagine the display happened just before then.

Could have been a better day I suppose!!

No Spit at the Wave, over to Coningsby and nothing. Off out for a trot round the county (Bu :grr: er all) Back to CBY and caught the Tonka departing.
Finally over to Scampton in time for the Reds (Private , for me and my mates) display , which again didn't diissapoint.

Were you in the new veiwing area "Flying Slug" ?? If so who were you, "Chesterfield guy" or "Blue Oyster Cult man??"

Nice to meet up with John at the W.A.V.E. and sample the Bacon Cobs and Coffee.

I'll type up a better report with some pics when I get home to Cheshire on Friday.

Hi Beefsteak. I went to the veiwing point but decided to try my luck down the next lane. I stopped off at the guys who own/rent the land by the landing lights, they very kindly gave me permission to park my car in there carpark and allowed me to walk tothe fence. My wife and I had a ring side veiw I must admit I've never been so close to them it was awsome

I figured that out later when I saw your pictures , very nice set by the way, we were not so lucky lighting wise, but still got "Up close and personal" with them though!!
