The hedge, and info.

Post by reaper493 » Mon Aug 12, 2019 2:50 pm

Not sure if this needed a new thread or not, mods please move / merge if needed.

The hedge has been cut to the height of the fence to the north and south of the threshold. The cut section is slightly to the north of the wave entrance.

The road signs have also emerged advising delays likely from some point in August (I think it said the 15th, but seems early as that is Thursday, might be the 19th) until the 27th September. I guess this is to warn motorists as the lights on the A15 will probably be red for some time during launch and recoveries. There is no mention of the tempory traffic order in place as of yet.

The A15 is also closed 7pm Friday night to 6am Monday morning for bypass works starting Friday the 6th September until November, just to the north of the base. The wave will need to be accessed from the south, via Harmston or Branston for any one popping up at the weekend.

I'm amazed that the one bit of hedge that needed cutting to allow people to view from the safety of the WAVE has been left long... 🤣

I mean, did you expect anything different Andy? :P

HAHA. There's still time for them to do the rest. It's in their best interests to do it, they are forcing people to walk further up the road as it is.

Mike

PS the car is fine! Forgot to say earlier :halo:

I'll bring me pruning snips then (small & discreet enough to fit in the pocket)

Haha I remember being stood at the end of the runway on Airshow day and someone was doing just that!
To be fair they did a great job and I considered asking them to do mine at home!

Yeah but don't bring the shears, pruners are more discrete - they're easier to conceal
