Re: Bobcat
I only got a distant view of it but it looked Islander-ish.

Re: Bobcat
I think it was an Islander - there is a company based at Hurn that uses BOBCAT that operates a number of Islanders.
Re: Bobcat
yes Chris
Typo error I have a very old SC-MAC Book 1988 and was looking for C/S it was listed as Hawk 74(R) Sqn of course call signs have changed since then was just a rough guide, apologies for that.
Comfortably Numb
Re: Bobcat
The Bournemouth Hurn EGHH group report BOBCAT 18 a few days ago as G-BJOH, may be that, may be not - which was once upon a time the more sensitive ZF573 - recent change of ownership too.
Interesting it visited Waddo.

Re: Bobcat
When I was there the other week for the Tc-135, a light brown twin enginged civvy type came in, it had a camera under the nose, had a similar callsign.
Looked like a Beechcraft Baron twin engined prop, I google the reg but found nothing, could have been this.

Re: Bobcat
It was PA-31 G-SCTR which seems to be operating regularly from Waddington.light brown twin enginged civvy type
Bobcat 18 stated that he had fixed undercarriage, so not a PA-31.

Re: Bobcat
Hi all. Thanks for your info. I think I will stick with the Islander.
I also caught the comment on the welded undercarriage.
Cheers George.

Re: Bobcat
Landed at 15.44 & Waddington referred to it as an Islander, so Islander it is!

Islander just launched from Waddington, heading in newark direction at this time, seen from garden, probably bobcat.

Re: Bobcat
One of the ex dodgy islanders - just can't keep away from a military airfield
Do islanders launch or do they float serenely into the air?

Re: Bobcat
I believe the earth repels them and thus they end up at FL100. For some reason they're ALWAYS at FL100 when I hear them on the radio!

Re: Bobcat
A long time ago I watched one take off from Northolt - spiralling upwards to FL100 virtually within the airfield boundary before heading off somewhere over London ( but not always)
