Re: Due Saturday 22nd
yes I was told a few weeks ago that an AN-124 would be coming in instead of a C5 its bringing in a Sim as its to big for a C5, the C5 that came in before only bought in a smaller part to try before the main one arrives.

What!! the sim could not fit in a C5, I thought the C5 was about the same size as the AN-124!! I may sound a bit cynical, but with everybody at the Rwy 20 end it will land on 02!! as happened some years ago when a C5 came in.

that's was I was told from a very good source O/B coming in on AN-124 AS C5 not big enough??
Comfortably Numb
Re: Due Saturday 22nd
AN -124 has payload 25 % higher than C5A and 10% more than C5B maybe that as something to do with it or why charter an AN-124 when a C5 will do the job availability permitting?
Comfortably Numb
Re: Due Saturday 22nd
Why not just type "on base" to start with?
This season, I'll be mostly wearing........A THONG!
Re: Due Saturday 22nd
Which ever way it lands, it will be parking at the WAVE end to unload.
Wind favors 02 up until around 1030, then swings round to go directly across the runway.
If it was me, I'd land on 02, use the new 'under run' to run round and depart on 20.
Also, i think the cargo bay of the 124 is circa 20% larger than a C5.

Re: Due Saturday 22nd
The C5 has nothing to do with the SIM delivery. It was supporting US Army assets.
