I think it's all up in air at the moment.

It was expected Brize with the C-17s to Waddo, but latest talk is that Brize is having a lot of work done so it might not go there.

Also heard it was too loud for Waddington.

So it's anyone's guess!
Sorry to loud , what louder than a F-35 giving it the full 0-10000 feet in 30 seconds,
shortly not .

Latest report saying the Turks have withdrawn from CW, not entirely unexpected they have more important needs.
It's not a rumour, it's now confirmed as of this morning.

Might more to do with the frequency than the volume - they are an awfully screamy type of jet.

Have to wait and see what happens.

The old 76s were, but the 78s are turbofan, so probably about the same noise footprint as an E-3/C-17. More likely apron load ratings will dictate the location.

With regard to the Brize notam stating no visiting aircraft due to WIP. Could it be that due to work being carried out, and with the extra aircraft for the exercise, Brize will then be operating at its limit. ?

Turkey cancelling was confirmed here yesterday, which is probably where they've got their info from.

Brize was only ever planned to have an Indian tanker I believe, but that is reported to be going someone else now.

Afternoon gents,

Is there even any rumour where the Indian tanker may be going if not Brize?

Planning three days over Lincolnshire next week but also want to try and fit in Leeming, Marham, Lakenheath, Mildenhall etc in addition to wherever the tanker will be (assuming it’s different to 2007 and 2015 of course).

Ron

The latest rumour is it will be at Waddington.

It's also been suggested the Belgians are only doing the first 2 weeks.

I like that rumour - how many alternative rumours will we have before it touches UK tarmac? I'll start counting...

I could tell you it's not a rumour, but I'd get in trouble.

So I won't.

If you were maybe planning on coming to Waddington on Sunday on the off chance of seeing a Cobra Warrior arrival - it's worth noting that there is a heavy load planned to come down the A15, starting north of Scampton at 8.15 and traveling at 15mph. So plan accordingly.

It's also worth noting that the layby at the 02 end is now closed, and there are no stopping cones all along tower lane and the A15.

Indian Tejas were planned for CW22, so maybe just an erroneous cut 'n' paste by someone...?
