Just because the official statement doesn't say it. It doesn't mean that certain well know photographers won't suddenly appear in the back seat of the 2 100 Sqn Hawks :ninja:

So read all of the other official press releases regarding the flypast, route, NOTAMS, interview with the Vulcan pilot on the day. They may not arrive together, they may not take off together, they may not even overfly Waddington together but from Lincoln to Marham the plan is they will be very much together. Even the official photographer has been mentioned in one press release.

To clear up any lingering confusion, RAF Waddington have said in a press briefing that there will be NO FLYPAST at Waddington itself.

Ben,

Someone at the NoTAM office needs to learn how to put straight lines over places other than Waddo

So, where is the best place to see them all flying close to Waddington tomorrow? (Supra please do not reply).

Top of Canwick hill, go past the wave towards lincoln, turn right at the 2nd junction, and i'm guessing the memorial is somewhere round there?

Somewhere along the B1131 should get you a decent view as they come over Lincoln & the memorial site, you should be able to park safely at Mill Lodge and walk a few hundred yards back towards Bracebridge Heath along the verge so you're clear of the trees. You'd have the sun (if it appears!) pretty much behind you there too.

As I posted before the notam map I looked at does have them overflying waddo control tower like when the red arrows display for the airshow but it is just a rough idea of the route they will take. I will say however that I used the same website the day Canadian lanc turned up as there was a transit route for the red arrows which showed them going straight over my work place in Newark and although the time had slipped for their planned flypast with the lanc that day (which as we know never happened in the end) they did end up going straight over my work place so they definitely stuck more or less to the notamed route. Im going to take a chance at waddo, as at least I will get the sound of the Vulcan taking off :thumb: Also this will possibly be the last time the Vulcan will ever take off from waddo, maybe?

RAF Waddington have updated the times for tomorrow:

0815h Thursday 21st August 2014 – The Park And View Enclosure (PAVE) at RAF Waddington will open to the public

· 1000h Thursday 21st August 2014 – The Lancasters PA474 and FM213 will arrive in close succession at RAF Waddington. Once the Lancasters have landed the Vulcan will be towed in to position alongside them (was 09:00)

So that you can get the very best view of the aircraft they will be parked as close as is safely possible to the PAVE.

Interval – During this time the crews will be absent from their aircraft as they plan and prepare for the events that they are scheduled to display at later in the day.

· 1215h onwards – The aircrew will return to their aircraft for pre-flight checks prior to take-off

· 1320h – The aircraft will begin to taxy into position for take-off

· 1340h – The Lancasters will take off one after the other followed by the Vulcan. The aircraft will then immediately leave the visual circuit as they transit to their next destination.

· 1430h – The PAVE closes

Hertsman63,

Thankyou for your post on this thread, great advice and information for those that wish to participate. I would like to think that it has added value to my original post that initially was derided by a few members of this forum!. I however will be at work, I really hope that the weather is going to be favourable for this event and look forward to seeing forum members photos of the day.

With the PAVE opening at 0815 what happens regarding queuing before that time - I guess they will not allow queuing on the A15?

Definitely know queuing unless you want a major accident on the A15, get there just on or just after 08.15 is the best option.
Weather looks like the spoiler once again thou.

There are usually queues waiting for the PAVE to open when the airshow is on, and was on the Friday last year.

I wonder if they have underestimated how many will turn up???

Just spoken to someone local who has tried to get to the PAVE and says there is about a 6 mile tailback on the A15.
