I was at the arrivals today and tbh I was very very disappointed with the quantity of aircraft.
Anyone know anythin about the RNLAF KDC-10 and USAF RC-135W?
Also does anyone know why the second USAF C-17 whent to Mildenhall? It's still on the site as on static.

Many thanks,

Hi Allan,

GAF 30 53
GAF 30 62

IAF 36-20
IAF 36-33??? More difficult to read

Not had any issues with police or any one down on the 02 end. Sounds like a mare at the 20 end :(

Cheers

The RC returned to Mildenhall on an IFE so may be looking doubtful for the show fly bye[if it the the one doing the show that is.]

"That's the law ................

That is NOT correct! You ARE entitled to remove overhanging branches!
And that applies to branches overhanging public rights of way too.........

Also, if the blocking of the A15 is such an issue would it not make more sense to divert all through traffic around the back road between Bracebridge Heath and the Branston turning south of the airfield, keeping that stretch of the A15 only for traffic going to Waddington, if only at peak traffic times. Surely this also reduces the risk of traffic / pedestrian accidents along the 'fenceline' caused by drivers paying more attention to the air than the road!

er, you 'aving a larf fella aren't ya! how about you lot go along at 0905 when the gates are Open!. It's called a peak rush hour for a reason, for people to go to work, not just having a day off looking at planes, plus you're also holding up the base staff getting in as well!.
Well today the people who wanted to go to work ended getting stuck at arond 8:15 and then tonight for everyone leaving they did divert all traffic at each junction before the airfield.

Also the RC-135 is operating out of Mildenhall for the show

KDC-10 never came in before we left at 17:15 and no Andover either :@

My god dont understand why people are complaining about hedge cutting. We watched guys with garden shears, saws and seceturs so they could get a good view. If the plod were so bothered why did three of them sit in their van driving down the grass threatening to arrest people. Even a blind man was able to see where the hedge had been cut. To this get of your fat lazy arse mr plods and ask and search the guys next to the cut hedge. Easy you dint have to be CID to work it out. Then ask them why they have such equipment with them. Mmmm then lock them up for criminal damage and create another nice little revenue stream.
Only problem I had was the idiots at the gate and the severe lack of organisation. One lane 6 pilots Mmm so how to cause a traffic jam at an instance. Plod and mod plod arguing about what to do. Plod walk away and leave it to the mod plod. During their arguing we drove along the line of of pilots waving ten pounds at them just to be waved on. Bonus free entry. No we went over and payed and explained had they not been bitch fighting with each other they would have noticed we hadn't paid.
Just hope tomorrow is better organised and they have used the scouts or aircadets to show out top pilots plod and mod plod how to organise things.

KDC-10 and Andover both went in after 6pm. Andover is confirmed by sbs box and kdc-10 was eyeballed low over sleaford.

The worst arrivals day I've ever been to. The journey in was a pain and the lack of aircraft summed up how far this show is sinking. To put the boot in, they even landed everything at the end away from the paying public....don't tell me the winds were so vicious that they just HAD to land on 02. Many were leaving before 2 o'clock and I left before 3...I've always had to be booted out before. Thoroughly, thoroughly disappointing day. The last 2 days have been a lesson in how to pee people off :(

Glad I gave it a miss this year. But also sad that it wasn't worth attending.

Here's to next year...

The farce regarding the opening of the gates has put me off. Complete darn shambles.

Next year, its park up somewhere and walk to the roadside. Assuming they can put together enough participation.

For an arrivals day it was a strange one, for the vast majority of day it was eerily quiet. Statics won't take long to do, if you don't count the long walk to get there  Alpha dispersal is half empty. But probably been padded out but the late arrivals.

Was the tigermeet F-16 moved to a different dispersal like foxtrot or is it going to be the display jet? Because it was parked live side for a while.

In two minds about if departures is worth the £5 now
