News on Vulcan607?

Post by Unknown74 » Sun Jan 19, 2025 6:00 am

Hi all, quick question - what is the latest news on Vulcan XM607? Is it still being restored? Will it be back in it's usual display spot near WAVE at all?

Restoration was completed some point in 2023 if I remember correctly.

It won't be going back on it's spot by the wave, it's planned to be kept mobile and used for events. Believe the hard standing was no longer safe and there is talk of widening and strengthening delta taxiway next to where it stood.

It spends most of its time on bay 14? In the middle of the base next to the Rubb (where the Poles parked in CW).

NAM is in discussion with RAF Waddington over a formal loan agreement for its Vulcan towing arm, which went to the base a few years ago and allowed XM607 to be moved off its display plinth .
