The WAVE (Waddington Aircraft Viewing Experience) is your pointer - viewing experience?!
WAVE has always been Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure. It's an enclosure you can view aircraft from, does what it says on the tin.
The WAVE has more than one interpretation, I used the one as per their 'official' Facebook page, yes check it out - even Google will show more than one.

Paragraph 2
“Tenuous” – very weak or slight. By the definition of the word even you do not disagree that the discrimination against a sector of society regarding recruitment for the RAF, is unacceptable. A senior RAF recruitment officer's resignation (Group Captain), and widespread main and social media coverage of this issue, proves the point in my original post.

Paragraph 3
You’ve said your bit, just as I've said mine.

Paragraph 4
Realistically, as it's a tourist attraction
You grade the facility (the WAVE) high, very high, by implication acknowledging the attractiveness of the venue and destination. You even suggest Council funding.

Suddenly the tenuousness of your submission is rather obvious. With respect.

WAVE has always been Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure and that is the correct name for it, that was decided before it was even built. The location was given the name WAVE for the planning.

All has gone quiet on the Gripens. Seems it was nothing more than a rumour.

It won't be "quiet" at Coningsby as the based Typhoons will no doubt be playing as usual alongside their usual ops

Ah yes I had viewed this and forgotten about it! So possibly one more F16 @ Mildenhall.

This may just be some wishful thinking of mine (sorry!).

I saw there was a press release a month back stating the SP were taking part in Cobra Warrior. But with those 3 or 4 C17 flights into Mildenhall the other week from Shaw AFB, could it be they've switched from SP F16s to SW F16s? I would've thought it was the SW F16s passing through to the East, but seemed like quite a bit of support for a couple days stop? Very happy to be corrected, this is just me thinking 😂

With the SP F16s arriving Mildenhall next week. The rumour has floated Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th August as the most likely days of arrival..however, Mildenhall are NOTAM’d shut from Friday night to Tuesday early morning so I would say that arrival will most likely be Tuesday morning/lunchtime. Below is the relevant NOTAM..

U5367/23 - AD CLSD. FLIGHTS DURING CLOSURE PERIOD MUST BE PRIOR APPROVED
ACFT, HAVE OPS NECESSITY, OR BE A HIGHER HEADQUARTERS DIRECTED
MISSION AND MUST BE APPROVED BY 100 OPS GROUP COMMANDER. CTC COMMAND
POST AT 314-238-2121 TO COORDINATE FOR APPROVAL. 25 AUG 22:00 2023 UNTIL 29
AUG 05:00 2023. CREATED: 16 AUG 13:01 2023

Some rumours say the Warhawks arrive over two days at Mildenhall

It will be fun to see how they get on at Mildenhall during Cobra warrior in terms of integration with normal base operations; will they require the cables to be raised? What happens when tankers are waiting for timed take offs for AR missions? Why are they not operating from Spangdahlem?

I guess they'll have teams permanently stationed on the cables during operational hours - team members who are yo-yo experts will be much appreciated! :P

As for your last point: one of the purposes of Cobra Warrior and similar exercises is to practice deployed operations. Hence, they will deploy to another base, even if they could 'work form home'. Having said that, I would have thought that Lakenheath would have been the number 1 choice - if they're pressed for space, the RNAF Lightnings could have gone to Marham instead...?

That makes sense also on non CW days the F-16C could practice on the ranges in Wales like the AV did when they were at Lakenheath - I can't remember the name of the ranges - Aborporth or similar sounding word.

( Hobo flight just departed Mildenhall - I assume such flights cannot be delayed for visitors to launch?)

Marham is thin on staff, im not sure if visitors usually bring all supporting staff or just forward support

Strange when you consider the point of forward deployment should be to be self supporting, yet the the USAF want to operate from another American base ? Assume Mildenhall area can provide accommodation where as Waddington area options are limited and more expensive ?
I expect the Norwegian F-35A will appreciate working alongside their USAF partners and support. I doubt the RAF Marham F-35B team has any support to offer the F-35A.
