It is a bit strange that India cancelled last year with 5 Tejas because of the Russian situation, and now a story comes out that they've cancelled this year with the exact same jets for the exact same reason, after being rumoured to be bringing different jets for the past couple of months. Something seems odd. Aaaaagh well, we'll find out soon enough.
Nothing odd at all. The RAF cancelled the exercise last year, not the Indians.
India pulled out before the RAF cancelled.

Have had an anonymous message to say India have not cancelled.

Let's wait until there's jets in the air haha

As said before most info on Scramble (i know cause i edit it) is indeed based on this topic at Fightercontrol.
For now : Two IAF C-17A's have crossed the Arabian Sea earlier today flying from VANY/ Naliya AFS to OMAM/ AlDhafra in the UAE.
During the previous days these two have flown domestic to VOSX/ Sulur, and later on to VANY/ Naliya AFS which happens to be the IAF Tejas homebase.
So something happening after all? The two are IFC1021 CB8011 [800E63] and IFC1121 CB8001 [80078E]. The IFC**21 indicates these have already been flightplanned in 2021.....
Pieter,

Edit , not for the UK, see https://www.latestly.com/socially/india ... 83711.html

The link you are referencing is dated Feb 2022 - best ignored, it has nothing to do with Cobra Warrior 2023.

One of the above mentioned C-17s is heading back towards India now.

Still a few days to go so could have been a different sortie.

Pieter,
In the last 10 minutes, the IAF posted on Instagram saying that they’ve arrived in the UAE to participate in Ex Desert Flag. The exercise will be conducted until 17th March. They’ve taken five Tejas and two C-17s.

They do. Scramble really know no more than anyone else, and having a few long-held Dutch friends (one of whom 'works' at Scramble), trust me, they have a habit of just copying stuff from elsewhere! Don't be fooled into thinking Scramble is the all knowing, all seeing entity many people think it is.

You are correct, see my earlier posts above, have said twice that Cobra Warrior info on Scramble is based on FC Posts...

Reading clearly is also an art.

AK01 refers to the Tejas that operating in Ex Desert Flag.

Thanks Kier, that's correct.
For now the new discussion. We have 2 C17's + 1 IL78 Flying Delhi to Gwalior (M2000 homebase) on the 24th. Departing for VAJM/ Jamnagar. This morning flying Jamnagar for OEKK/ King Khalid in Saudi Arabia.

With the risk of making another bad suggestion i won't say they are heading for the UK..........
