I am at waddington waiting for the Gulfstream

Where did you see mm7317 from ? The other side by harmeston ta

Is it true the no camping stove rule in the wave is so you buy tea from the shop, surely not! Glad I left my coffee flask at home!

Edit mm7317 flew on Monday so job done

Thinking of having a trip over - are they flying every day?

They didn't fly last Friday and won't be flying next Monday for obvious reasons - other than that they have been up every day.

If the E550 is going back to Italy this afternoon would that make tomorrow doubtful for flying/

Tomorrow is not an exercise day, but some fighters may still fly. The E550 should be back by Thursday for the exercise.

I had a total failure by planning my visit for 9th September when, of course, nothing happened! Thinking about trying to make it up next week which I think was originally planned as Mon, Weds and Fri - but with the bank holiday on Monday will we lose a day's exercise, or will it just get moved?

Would love to give myself the best chance if I book another day off!

3 out of the 5 tonkas went tech yesterday, two with brake problems and one which never took off with engine problems.
So not sure how many will fly tomorrow.

Hi everyone

As I can't make it over for the first week of the EX... I took the opportunity to get the jets this morning just incase any swaps or tech issues happen in the first week.

Just drove around the base... never seen so many roadside grass verges conned off.. all around the base with roads speeds from 50mph - 40mph and down to 30mph as you pass the wave.

Lots of laybys... pull ins and road closures in place as per the posts above.

Italians jets visable at the bottom end of the field with four in a line then a small gap to the 5th one.

German AF Tornado's all visable in a line nose on to the A15... a couple of Sentinels by the A15 and two Airseekers mid field. .. sorry no serials on the Airseekers as nowhere to park up :(

Hope this helps.

I will be heading to Durham on Sunday (18th) and plan to detour via the Wave for a pit-stop etc. Which field are you referring to please, from which you saw the Italians?

You can see the Typhoons from Harmston - park on Vicarage lane and walk back over the A607 and stand on the edge of the field - I don't think you can read them off though.

If you want a longer walk, go towards the cross roads, turn left on to tower lane down to the layby, then walk down to the crash gate - this is the bit that's taped off but is passable (so I'm told)

Many thanks Mike, Harmston it is then (the wife might have to drop me off and drive round in circles for ten minutes while I nip up the lane to the crash gate at the 02 end!).

Here’s hoping they’re fixed as I’m heading down there tomorrow! Two flying at a minimum would be nice though.

Will there likely be a Press Day next week (after the State Funeral & assuming CW/22 is still on)?

Didn’t I read somewhere that a member of the German Squadron say that they were leaving Monday 19th? Now that’s a bank holiday so I guess it will be Tuesday now?
