Will there be stewards in attendance at the WAVE again (to ensure fair play - ladders/parking etc)?

More than likely.

Hopefully the road traffic signs return otherwise they could be some issues on the A15 with people beyond the lights/under the approach.

Trying to find road closures/no waiting etc but can't locate anything.

The road closure notices of the local authority to the last couple of Cobra Warrior exercises was an over reaction. Assume they are not bothering this year. It is not as though twenty ++ aircraft are going to line up / land in one go. If idiots stand in the middle of the road then that for the police to deal with not the staff from WAVE. Standing on the grass verge and taking photos is not an offence and should be no business of WAVE either. We can all safely park in WAVE and suggest we use their cafe.

Yes but those idiots are the ones who could end up spoiling or destroying this hobby. We could end up like many countries where the hobby is not tolerated. The WAVE are probably trying to safeguard their business. The Police are stretched enough as it is.

I think the WAVE needs putting into perspective....... its a carpark for enthusiasts...... Now, I don't need my hand holding when I'm at the carpark at Lakenheath or Coningsby, so, I'm sure others like myself don't need our hands holding by someone serving burgers whilst we are parked at Waddington.

I thought the A15 road closure during the last Cobra Warrior (2019) was due to the construction of the Lincs Eastern Bypass roundabout near Bracebridge Heath?

The A15 was closed at weekends during Cw19 for roadworks, the traffic regs were a speed limit on the A15, no parking in the layby at 02 end, plus speed limits in other places as well as no one between the lights.

Cw22-1 that got cancelled had far more - Bloxholme lane was a no parking road ( lane parallel to the A15), more speed limits, a road in the village was no parking plus a few others.

Hoping they don't go as drastic as the planned 22-1 regs ...

I thought the previous restrictions were due to Israeli participation?

Seems excessive if they do it again for 12 jets. How would they have gone on in ACMI days? :D

Could you imagine what FC would have been like in the Elder Forest/Elder Joust & Mallet Blow days? On one occasion I think 64 French AF fast-jets refuelled at Honington on the same day but not all at the same time obviously, huge amounts of aircraft were involved in these exercises - they were wonderful!

Then there was the invasion of over 100 French military helicopters to Netheravon, now we get excited if a single French Puma visits the UK. (I think it was Netheravon unless my memory is playing tricks)!

Don't forget the TACEVALs (Tactical Evaluations) that bases had, I witnessed 12 KC-135's departing in a stream take off from Mildenhall one morning, then I went over to Lakenheath to see the last 54 F-111's departing - I missed a few departures before I got there, so there were probably over 60 F-111's involved in total. The noise, vibration and thick black smoke from all of these departures was an experience never to be forgotten.

Netheravon 2001, and then I think there was another deployment too.

I was 10 at the time but I vividly remember walking up and down the road with my dad and hundreds of other spotters trying to ID all the codes (because of course there was no way you were reading them off) and then waiting for a report to be posted to MSF!

Thanks for the confirmation, Chris, could you imagine the mess that the OTT section would be in with that lot crossing the Channel (if we had ADS-B & FC in those days).

Just in case anybody has forgotten what the field looked like that day (sorry for keeping off topic, but if we were all stood at the fence this is the sort of thing that would be being discussed)

Sorry if it's already been asked, but is the last day of the exercise normally busy? Might be able to get there on 20th, just trying to weight up the chances of seeing stuff... Apologies, never been to one of these before!

20th should be a non exercise day. In recent years the jets have flown on non exercise days, keep an eye on the logs over the weeks prior for an idea of what's occuring.
