The base didnt want people down at crash gate 5 when the galaxy turned up a few months back and tried stopping people taking photos, so its no surprise they have put a restriction on this area.
Yeah, but with the Galaxy it was because they were unloading the ultra-secret new device just..... sorry! Can't say, :ninja:

There's the Cobra Warrior section for the exercise where this info needs to be: viewtopic.php?f=414&t=179502

Hello gentlemen,
I'm a long time silent reader and just signed up recently. This is actually my first post. I read the introduction advice in the newbie section thouroughly however I am still trying to find my way around so please excuse if my question is off here; I sure hope I'm not causing any trouble. If possible, please stear me in the right direction.
Anyways, if everything goes well, I will be visiting RAF Waddington for Ex Cobra Warrior during the second week of September and like most here am hoping to finally catch those elusive IDF F-15s, God willing. As I am coming quite a long way from Germany, I sure hope to make the best of it and can only hope and pray the long way and all the bookings won't be in vain. I just hope the Israeli guests will indeed be operating out of RAF Waddington and not divert to another base. I do want to try and keep tabs on everything as close as possible just in case but as I said I'm not sure I already properly find around the forum. I am constantly reading this thread as it goes along. I am denied access to the thread in the link posted two posts above however. The last and only time I visited RAF Waddington was in 2004 for an Airshow so I literally have absolutely no clue how and where to move around the base. I read up everything I could about the WAVE, the viewing guide in the spotters section and the imposed restrictions.

Is there any other thread in the forum apart from this one and the one linked above where I could regularly check back and forth about movements, operational days and possible changes?

Please excuse the bother and long text, I just want to make sure, I am not missing anything that could turn my visit into a mess.

many thanks in advance.

Alex

Hi Alex, you will be able to access the "Cobra Warrior" section and also the "Heads-up/OTT" section once you have 5 posts on the forum.

Don't want to push the number of my posts (yes, I know it looks very obvious hihihi)
but while I cannot access the appropriate threads, please excuse my repeted bothering; but .... so far it is known the Israeli Eagles are indeed supposed to operate out of Waddington, right? I am just asking again as I repeatedly read also on other sources that they might operate out Lakenheath or Coningsby. I booked accomodation in Lincoln and cannot eternally stretch the time I can flexibly cancel and I sure don't want to stay at the wrong place.

From what’s happened so far this week with support flights, it looks like both the Germans and Italians will operate from Waddington and I would imagine the Israelis too, have not seen any credible info to suggest otherwise.

I believe there are some major roadworks on or near the A15 between Lincoln and Waddington, so allow more time to get there, I’m sure one of the locals can provide more detail

Edit: I can find no mention of said roadworks on the inter web, so maybe I’ve picked things up wrong but I’m sure I saw mention of a new roundabout being installed for the Lincoln bypass?

As you come out of Bracebridge Heath on the A15, you will see the work in progress for the eastern bypass on the left.

The roundabout will join it to the A15 before the airfield

Thanks a lot for the clarification and most of all for the advice on the roadworks. As my room is in Lincoln I'll most likely be coming from that direction, hence that is one important piece of info for me. Thanks a lot.
So far it also still seems to look like Bloxholm Lane will be available for parking, won't it?

Won't have much affect but the A15 is closed at weekends from 6pm Friday to 7am Monday starting mid September for anyone planning a weekend trip.

Also worth noting the road to the east of the A15 is closed at the northern end for anyone wanting longer approach shots. (Bloxholme Lane).
Access is from the south via the B1178.

Actually that is important. I planned on arriving Monday morning rather early and this way I at least know I apparently won't be able to even use the A15 before 7 am. Good advice, thanks!
