XW838 was written off in August ‘74

It's boom survived and was attached to 'TAD009', a training aid.

You can see it from the connecting lane off the A17 to the A6403 ( 53.027369,-0.515563) opposite the phenom hangars looking slightly north east across the airfield 53.031628,-0.503325

I think I saw it during the practice for the Queen's flypast last year but didn't realise what it was

As mentioned above it appears only the boom is from XW838 something I didn't realise.

The heritage centre is worth a visit for the JP XP556 and Vampire front half - XE946

Free entry plus a donation

Tea and coffee available
