Last year, the first display practise was in the middle of March. Monday the 16th March was the official date that they had on the website but i dont think they acctually started until Wednesday 18th. Im guessing this year its going to be Monday 15th March.

That's when it starts over the base. For a couple of weeks before the display is normally performed at high level display 5,000 in free airspace. The airspace which seemed to me used a lot was between Spalding (South Lincolnshire )and Kings Lynn (North Norfolk). We had it directly over Spalding a couple of times in that period :thumb: impressive to see even at high altitude :)

The first full 'ground level' display was on the 8th April last year (I was one of the lucky ones to be there)

Sorry, thats what i meant  . I remember seeing it practise over the spalding area at around 5000 ft last year from my work place at Sutterton (about 5 or 6 miles from Spalding). So we will probably see that again in a couple of weeks from now, then in mid March at 1000ft over the base, and then a week or 2 into April at low level over the base.

'Good news a pilot has been chosen !. but he will not be named until its authorised by commanders.

the 2010 display will be the best to date if all the plans happen !.

hope this helps out with the will they or won't they crew.'

I would suggest that the times will remain the same. The times (0800-0830 & 1300-1330 local) were chosen to minimize noise disturbance to the local schools during lesson and exam times. There is normally a release to the local media of the scheduled times and an update on the RAF Coningsby MoD webpage.
