security

Post by airfixpilot » Thu Jul 26, 2012 6:36 am

Hi all.
I seem to remember some kind of spotter watch, membership scheme in place at Coningsby. This was done with co-operation of conningsbys MOD police for keeping a eye out for suspisious movement around the bases perimiter then report it on a phone number given on the card. I seem to think you got a membership card, from Coningsby with your name and a membership number on it. Yes I have lost mine. Is this scheme still in place?. At the timeI asked if it was going to be rolled out at other bases around the UK, and at airports across the UK. I had post on this item but cannot find them on FC, as it is so many years back. :)

I, along with a number of colleagues are original members of spotterwatch. We all smiled when reading in the national press that we were assisting security for the Olympics, and are still awaiting the brown envelope detailing our specific duties and confirming that our services are of course free.
