Reported that Merlin engined fighters operated by the BBMF have been grounded due to possible engine defects. RAF say going ahead with displays could be dangerous to both pilots and audiences. Don’t know if the Lanc is included in this decision.
Info from a Kent local newspaper covering an Armed Forces Day.

It's everything of theirs with a Merlin engine, so includes the Lancaster

Thanks Mark,, wasn’t certain if the Lanc had a different variant of the Merlin engine that isn’t included on the grounding.

How many Griffon-powered Spitfires do they have operational at the moment - and is the Dak currently airworthy? For the moment, that's the total of their display fleet!

Dakota is at Duxford and won't fly till next as far as I know and the Griffon spitfires I think X2 have both Been on long maintenance at Coningsby and I thought they were due to fly again this year but that hasn't happened yet. I think the only things they can technically fly are the chipmunks but they won't display in them

Apparently the Spit that was up has a different Merlin to the one with the issue, so was quicker through checks.

Not seen anything - MK356 was up this morning, not sure if that was the one that went up yesterday.

Bbmf confirmed all good to go.
We have now conducted a thorough investigation into the fault experienced on one of our Merlin engines. Our excellent team of engineers and industry partners have undertaken the necessary inspections, maintenance, and safety assurance work to ensure that we can return to flight all our aircraft powered by Merlin engines without restriction. We look forward to our planned programme of appearances this weekend.
