Coningsby and Cobra Warrior

Post by jp 74 » Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:20 pm

Hi guy’s and girls,

Me and a friend are coming over for a round trip to the UK from the Netherlands and i was wondering if the Typhoons from Coningsby participating in Cobra Warrior are based at Waddington or are they staying at home?
And how is the flying at these days at Coningsby?
I hope you can provide me with some answers.
Thanks!

In regards to daily flying, it varies, just a case of sitting and waiting!

Flying today has been busy, from 0945 until just before 1700. All squadrons are at home at the moment.

One chap at Coningsby the other day was saying contrary to the general consensus that the Germans contingent would be at Coningsby??

Will find out when the supporting aircraft turn up , apparently there are a couple on Monday 19/8?

ItAF C-130 due today at Waddington, suggests the Italians will almost certainly be there.

Only Typhoon your likely to see outside at Coningsby are any that are doing displays on Sunday. As for Waddington See the Cobra Warrior info section (or look on the Waddington section

Yesterday, once the action at Waddington died down the swarm descended on Coningsby.

Be warned - the parking at the B1192 end of the runway soon descended into farce with badly parked cars and people seemingly trying to reserve space in the layby for their mates - only parking in a slightly more sensible manner when their mates showed up to make space.

Also beware of the large puddle in said layby.
