I am told that the purveyor of hot food on the car park might lose his spot as the Batmobile from the base has decided that after him being there 10years wants his spot. Lets make sure he stays and the Batmobile stays where it is. I for one will not support them at all.

It's the way it has been done which is upsetting. He was phoned this evening and told the MOD would take over providing food from THIS FRIDAY!!!
The RAF and the community - don't make me laugh.

I assume you refer to the company that has supplied food over at RAF Waddington for a good number of years And they use the BAP mobile. Yes... Note the correct spelling.
Sadly the Merry Melon sandwich guys from Waddington village seem to have lost the contract some years ago
I would much rather hear about Aeroplanes on here, frankly.

Always nice to have a brew from Adrian, especially when he has various free RAF literature to hand out
The only down side to his business acumen is his inability to turn up everyday (Even in the summer.......

All I understand is that some bloke walked up to Adrian in a bad mood after coming back from his holidays (and should have sent Adrian a letter), and then walked away again.

Pardon my ignorance but which car park are we talking about here?
Is it one that is deemed to be MOD property (that can be inside or outside the wire)? If yes, ISS have the right to move anyone on as they will have the station contract to supply food/drinks to any punters who want to buy. Anyone wanting to supply food in competition to ISS have to have their contract agreed with station.
Also, if MOD Property, has the present guy actually made contact with RAF Coningsby to see if he can sell food on MOD property?? Yes being padantic but it would be like someone setting up a burger stall on your front garden without your permission and selling food to Joe Public.
As for quality of Bapmobile food, having been on several RAF stations where the Bapmobile is in operation, I can't fault it on quality or price!! Maybe some people should try it before being open in their comments online.
I'll grab my coat now

I think I agree with Gary Scotts post.....
Still life goes on and I'm sure someone will come up with another completely dull non aviation subject before long.....

In answer to romeo bravo, the burger man does in fact have a lease, for which he has to pay. He also has to take out insurance. The main issue is lack of information leading to a feeling of mistrust. The lease is due for renewal at the end of this month and usually this has been agreed by this time of year. As I understand it, neither the lease owners, the MOD or RAF Coningsby are saying anything - hardly good business management and obviously giving the vendor cause for concern.
As regard being a non aviation subject, it is a part of some of the enthusiasts day to meet up at the van area not only to give support but meet up with other enthusiasts. Unfortunately, unlike Waddington with its WAVE page, CBY does not have a dedicated site for this sort of thing so on the rare occasion some members may have to be a little tolerant if its not just"planes" !!
