Hi Mike,my brother said he was at burger bar this morning, and was told that one had just come in before he got there with sparks and smoke coming off it.And that they had just cleared the runway up and back to normal. This is why i was asking if anyone could shed any light on it,it maybe nothing then.

Oh dear, I suspect the pilot will have to answer a few questions in which case. One can only imagine the potential danger of deloying flares on the ground, surrounded by other jets and fuel tankers.

Nice one Kevin, just looked at your pics, but you mist best bit you oh fudge. The shot of flairs going off,but then we do slow down as we get older.Shouldnt think you will get another chance for something like that happening again, still you did get the smoke so will let you off a bit.

Thread renamed because the original name was a bit stupid.

Answer questions yes, but I doubt his fault more likely a problem with the jet. Under normal circumstances you can't dispense flares on the ground due to all the safety features.

Cheers Kevin.
Now that is a weird coincidence, two incidences of flares being accidently being fired. Makes one think that there is a faulty batch of flares or they had be incorrectly fused ?

Just to clairfy my earlier post -
Thread renamed because the original name was a bit stupid.
I was not implying anyone was stupid, just that the name of the thread was rather over-stated, bearing in mind the facts we now have.

No offence was meant to anyone and I apologise if any offence was caused.

Cheers
Steve
