Well I think we treat visitors to the base very well, I have had many a spotter share my frame to take pictures on and as for
not sharing info we would not have movements without regular reports from people that visit the base as well as all the info
the locals share.I think a lot of people have had a brew with the Reedham Crew on a cold day and checked out our web site.

Cheers

I'm tempted next visit to go Reedham - I'm very partial to Jelly Babies (and Wine Gums) :)

Never let it be said I don't do my part - next visit I'll bring buns!

If you look anything like your icon thingy Chris, I would be very wary of approaching you

AFP.
I was up at Scampton earlier this year & at lunch time took a drive up the road leading from the ruined cottage. Several cars parked at intervals - the occupants waved so I quickly left the area. So be warned, not everyone is there to see the Reds get up.

As for the rest of them CGY regulars, or anyone, most are not bad some may be quite pleasant. Just try harder AFP you will find someone friendly one day.
You could start with Adrian, buy a coffee & ask for an update. He's ok.

Been to CBY lots of times and most times have chatted to spotters no probs. I think some people just like the odd word not a constant earfull!

Reading this from my 2nd home (the loop) I'm not surprised to hear your disappointment. I remember going to the main parking area and found it a bit "stiffy" and not many people talked to me. After a few visits and making the effort, Adrian made me more than welcome and I fitted in. Once the Photography side of my visits became more important, I discovered CG1, The mound, Old Fen lane, Reedham Lane, even met the Captain at the end where he never leaves!!
I'm sorry you found your first visit disappointing, to be honest you posted that you was going to visit a week before, a few of us look for you but alas you couldn't make it. The main viewing area is where most of "joe public" go. Don't expect a open arms welcome because some people there will be general public. If you go to one of the crash gates then a great opening conversation is.... " hi has much been happening?" This always breaks the ice, I really believe you get out what you put in! As I've said the main viewing area is not "the place to be" . Bit of advice, next time you visit, if you want to be introduced pm a regular that way they can prove to you as a good FC member and they can meet up with you and show you round. " Don't expect it to be laid on a plate. But plan to make it as enjoyable as possible .... Just talk

Sorry David just take Gaz's name off that list i sent you lol

And heres me telling this chap just how friendly you are down there Gaz

Come on mate, we've all pulled up to strange airbase and been treated like we'd just walked into the local pub in Royston Vasey or it that just me that happens to lol

I think all David is asking for is a nod and an hello just to break the ice

:)
Lee I'm never friendly ;) Thats why i'm not in any of the so called "factions" (B1192 etc etc), besides if the first thing I read in the morning is what I perceive to be a good bitch about the Coningsby locals then a flippant response is in order. Brutal banter and all that :'(

I also perceive that Airfixpilot has not taken my comment the wrong way, so there could be hope for him yet :pop: unless the Tuesday club get him, if that happens he's f :grr: d!!

I'm planning a visit in the next few weeks guys. Not visited for over 12 months and I need my fix! I will bring cake and maybe some jelly babies. Being a novice female I need all the help I can get! :)

Going back to airfix's experiences I'm just glad he didn't meet The Captain!! He would never go to CBY ever again

When i went up to watch some night flying, i was made to feel incredibly welcome. Offers of hot drinks, advice on where to be and when, camera tips, and a bit of banter!

I felt really at home. :)

Well with the s** :grr: t thrown at the locals this week, The Reedam boys put it all behind us and set up at the B1192 end,
Jelly Babies and brutal banter were on the menu as usual. It was also good to meet up with Tom at last and all the people
heading to Wittering.
