PDA Day 2025

Post by TYPHOON3 » Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:36 pm

It's almost that time of year when I ask about the date of PDA. Anyone heard any possible dates ? Guessing around the 19th May based on last year. Thanks in advance for any info, rumours or fact.

Doubt it as not long enough - but I could be wrong.

Apparently the typhoon one could be delayed as Nath has done some tweaks to the display meaning he has to start again at 1500ft.

Do they need the PDA to take part in the VE Day flypast, ie ready to act in any emergency etc, that's the 5th, so not too much time

The Typhoon, BBMF and Red Arrows are doing the Flypast and none have yet got a PDA. As they don't need to have it for that.

The BBMF are the only aircraft to be grounded during the winter, Reds keep flying and the Typhoon display pilot might not be taking part in the flypast.
So the only ones that may need a PDA for the flypast are the BBMF

Why do you think there is a requirement for a PDA for a flypast?

BTW there isn’t a need, PDAs are required for flying displays.

I didn't, that's why I asked, and my reasoning is in the post you replied to.
BBMF are grounded over the winter, everyone else is able to practice procedures through the winter
