They had to move people away from fence before the Chinook and F-35 could get airborne.

Commentary inside the station said the F35 display was delayed because of roadside spectators at the runway end (07) needed to be moved but were being ‘difficult’, and the Civil and RAF Police were ‘dealing with it’.

Sadly, it's highly likely to be 'Grockles' looking to fill the kids holidays for little financial expenditure? In which case they most likely don't read this or give a Shight!
In the alternative, if they were psuedo-enthusiasts then picture them, post them on here & all you guys can berate them?
The only difference between a Computer & a rogue enthusiast is......you only have to punch the info' into a computer once! ;)

Photos on social media show the spotters car park overflowing. With the last cars near enough on the road. The plea by the base and police worked well
People will always turn up, but a families day that runs into a Saturday like an airshow, photocall or spotters day, MAY alleviate some of the issues with people parking. I know, before anyone goes on, that the RAF aren't there for our entertainment, but the taxpayer (everyone here  ) does fund them. It will also get some good publicity & raise some money for local charities  . Just a suggestion for the base?!

Ypu might fund them but you don't pay our wages 100% certainty on that one, otherwise that makes me a self employed spotter

The people causing the problems, will not be reading this on FC

Next Time
Close the roads,Close the Spotters Car park on Thursday to stop the Camper Vans
staying overnight and close the Spotters Car Park on Families Day
Issue Parking Tickets and get Tow Trucks around to move them on

And FYI
I did watch the Families Day along with around 50 other people
Out of the way down at the river (Dogdyke Pumping Station)

I can feel the blood boiling already with some people
I am allowed to express my views by the way

Regards
Pete

I don’t think anybody has a problem with people watching from outside the base, obviously not, but when people are doing that by standing where they shouldn’t be then it is.

Arguing with police when asked to move is not really on either.

Obstructing a police officer can carry a one month prison sentence.

unfortunately, the world we live in today has created very selfish individuals. selfish behaviour at air shows this year for me has been very prevalent.
and trust me, my biggest "HATE" in life is rude selfish people.
i was there on Friday but like all the decent "respectful" spotters, was stood well back.
i saw camper vans parked at the front of the carpark blocking the views of those further back. if that wasn't selfish enough, one motorhome at the front had a ladder inside and was viewing from the skylight of the vehicle.(sorry if that was anyone on here but....was that necessary?)
the amount of cars ignoring the road closed signs and taking a chance was quite frankly embarrassing. one "chancer" was stopped by police (who incidentally did a fantastic job all day), was arguing with the officer claiming he was a local. the officer told him he needed to take the long route round the "LOCAL" didn't have a clue how to and needed directions.
when will people stop being total di**heads and be respectful of rules and laws

Supra / Rafair,
May I comment on what you posted?
Supra,
Many people are finding it difficult to make ends meet these days, so , perhaps, a 'free' airshow is something they might go for, especially as there is little else in that part of Lincolnshire for those on a tight budget.

Rafair,
I don't understand your comment about funding. Unless RAF jets start sporting 'Sponsored by Paddy-power Bingo' soon, I would suggest all their funding comes from the great British public.

Please try to remember that aircraft enthusiasts like us are a minority in the population. Perhaps a little tolerance of our fellow man/woman/person might be in order?

🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦

I wonder how many registered FC enthusiasts make a financial contribution to their visits to various military airfields/viewing sites around the UK.
Just a thought 😎

Is it safe for a visit to RAF Coningsby later this week? No abnormal parking restrictions foreseen, proposed?
No weekday clubs due to gather in hordes.

Cheers from Charlie

I thought it was well known that "foxy Bingo" was the sponsor of choice. :P

Good on you for making a donation, I didn't know there was an honesty box at the 25 end, where abouts is it located? Admittedly I tend not to venture into his field so much these days, just either risking my life at the layby or parking up at Reedham lane.

I'm not a local myself, but I'll make a point of looking out for it from now on :thumb: If it's good enough for John's field then it's good enough for the farmer's patience.
