ZK372

Post by Euangray12 » Wed Jun 28, 2023 12:20 am

Bit puzzled on this, ZK372 was doing circuits at leuchars 270623. It was possibly on a delivery flight from Coningsby to Lossie after being in TMF, however it seems to have gone unlogged in both local facebook pages and Milkys fantastic site. Any information would be appreciated

Callsign was 'Lossie30' according to the Leuchars FB page along with a photo to confirm serial, looks like it was delivered to Lossiemouth.

Bit late but I heard Lossie 30 mentioned on the radio yesterday, think it may have been a Tartan telling Swanwick his expected call signs

It arrived to Lossie on 22/6 as Tyrant 41. Was waiting to see which Sqn it's been assigned to, before updating the based list in the Lossie section.

Odd that it's awaiting assignment to a Lossiemouth squadron given that it arrived along with two other 12 Sqn aircraft (ZK366 'Tyrant 42' & ZK366 'Tyrant 43') and not using a 'Typhoon' c/s. Comms were also heard referring to the "Coningsby aircraft".

I think the confusion is that ZK373 was listed as Tyrant 41. Assuming that this was a typo, and it actually was ZK372? Tyrant 43 seems to be listed as either ZK432/ZK342 also.

It'll have been assigned, but I haven't been across much since last week so not sure which Sqn it's flying with to confirm.

Tyrant 43 was ZK362, confirmed by TomG on arrival, as was ZK366 as Tyrant 42 and ZK372 as Tyrant 41.

So just to sum up, 362, 372, 366 all came up from Coningsby and are currently unknown who they are flying with. I presume 428 will come back down to coningsby or are they staying?

362, 366 and 372 on 6 Sqn's line at Lossie today, 362 and 366 flew as part of Venom this afternoon. 428 has also been assigned to 6 Sqn.

ZK372 was calling ‘Tyrant 41’ on arrival at Lossiemouth and arrived ahead of ‘42’ and ‘43’. If you’re going by ‘as being transmitted by the aircraft’ then yes, that was how it was showing on tracking sites however that suggests an incorrect transponder tie up.

Visual tie ups were ‘372 (Tyrant 41), ‘366 (Tyrant 42) and ‘362 (Tyrant 43).

‘366 carried full 12 Sqn mks.
