Busy Apaches

Post by Snoop 95 » Wed May 13, 2020 4:10 pm

Looking on ADS-B there are five Apaches up and about this afternoon. May not seem so, but that is quite busy for Wattisham. Two Chinooks as well so must be an excercise.

One Apache and two Chinooks passed over my house just now, both Chinooks carrying a load slung beneath.

The two Chinooks have been to Colchester Garrison and are now returning North. Looks like they came from somewhere near Fakenham in Norfolk last time.

Wattisham would make sense as the Apaches pass over here frequently, nothing picked up on scanner though.

Article here from the EADT paper says that the Chinooks are working-up for deployment to Mali. Also says that they went to Stamford, which I suspect should be the Stanford Training Area near Thetford. Are Chinooks based at Benson? I thought they were all at Odiham.
