RAF Marham became the latest Airbase to transition to Number 2 Group

"Friday 28th April RAF Marham became the latest Airbase to transition to Number 2 Group, becoming the lead station for the East Region comprising RAF Marham and RAF Honington, with Group Captain Fred Wigglesworth as Regional Commander. The Lightning Air Wing will remain Number 1 Group, delivering the training and operational output of the UK Lightning Force under the Command of Group Captain Phil Marr"

To be honest I don't fully understand the meaning or implication of the article: The Lightning force stays within Number 1 Group - air combat fast jets but the station transfers to Number Two Group

Got to keep more bigwigs in jobs so you don't have to pay them redundancy I guess.
