Hello all,

Has anyone got any information on the Marham family day this year?
I see that they've got the Falcons lined up...anything else known yet?

Falcons site has it listed - opens as a PDF download.

The first one has a height limit of 10,500ft which suggests Typhoon will probably be displaying. I guess they'll put up a 'Dave' or two as well, don't they normally get a visitor from LN/Mildenhall as well?

Mike

Good morning. With less than a week to go to this event now, does anyone have any updated gen on expected flying? I see the AD published open hours for the 28th (yesterday's NOTAM) are 07:00 - 16:00 UTC / 08:00 - 17:00 local. That other NOTAM for the Reds ends at 16:35 local, so I assume they're closing the show with their performance(?). Anyone know what time flying might start on the day, and what else can be expected?
(BTW - the FL105 in the Falcons NOTAM - is that not just their top-of-climb for the free-fall, rather than for a solo Typhoon?)

I bet you will get the solo Typhoon for the families plus an F-35B hover

A few years ago it was reasonable. Mildenhall sent a KC-135 and CV-22 to static , also a 493rd eagle into static plus a pair of hawks and some vintage bits

Yep. New separate NOTAMs out today give 7,100' AMSL for the Falcon parachute drop, 8,100' for the Red Arrows, and 10,500' for the general display - which certainly seems to confirm expectations of the solo Typhoon. All good :thumb:

Saw something in the media about Typhoons and hawks grounded while ejection seats are checked

Hopefully all sorted for the display typhoon - can't remember his callsign off the top of my head

Yes it is Anarchy

Certainly Anarchy in the UK, I assume it's the same callsign for overseas displays

Families day tomorrow 28/7

Anything turn up? I forgot to go and look

F-22A, F-35A and a F-35B formation flypast would be cute!

Ta

They used to get stuff from Mildenhall which was nice because you could get up close but that doesn't seem to happen

Does anyone know timings? e.g. when the flying starts and finishes?

Unless you go in parking is a bit tricky

They create no go zones that the local cooperate with

Notam says 12:00 to 17:00L

It's mainly for F&F to come on to the base and chill out

The last one I went to the classic cars were the most interesting items

Last couple years they've sent an Osprey & a KC-135 which the wings doubled as a nice sun shelter back in 2019

I think in 2019 I had a chat with some grim reapers and they said in advance they were going to be doing a quick climb.
