An Omni B767-200 flew Yuma-Baltimore-Mildenhall this morning so the kit and personnel are in place now

Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
Problem an obvious answer to this but why has the kit been delivered to Mildenhall and taken by road to Marham, rather than direct to Marham?

Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
I would guess one, or both, of two reasons.
1) US service personnel landing at a none US base are outside the US Military COVID bubble and need to Quarantine for two weeks.
2) the USAF have a support infrastructure at Mildenhall and they dont at RAF Marham.
but as I say, its a guess.
Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
Of note 4 coaches arrived onto base direct to the 767 and then Departed off base, from where we were could not see who or how many people were on each or which way they went after pulling out of the gatesSTN RAMP RAT wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 8:44 pmI would guess one, or both, of two reasons.

Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
When I was on my way to Lakenheath Warren just before 11am today I noticed 3 white coaches on the B1112 heading the opposite direction which would be the way to Marham. Didn’t think anything of it at the time but after reading your post it could of been the same coaches?

Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
Someone I spoke to suggested that Marham is capable of unloading from rear cargo ramps such as on C-17,C-130 but not from B744 cargo doors?STN RAMP RAT wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 8:44 pmI would guess one, or both, of two reasons.

Apparently some Raider (QB) herc(s) are due in later this week
Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
Indeed very unlikely that Marham would have the hi-lo equipment needed to unload a 747, there is also the likelihood that they would not have the appropriate steps to reach the crew doors. All you need for a rear cargo ramp is a good sized fork lift truck.

Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?
Just appeared on Marham Facebook:
We are aware that a number of people have been planning to visit RAF Marham when the United States Marine Corps arrive in the UK for a short detachment.
As always we would like to remind everyone that there is no viewing area in the vicinity of RAF Marham, and that all land surrounding RAF Marham is privately owned farmland.
The local landowners WILL NOT be permitting access to their land for the duration of the visit by the USMC. The landowners require regular access to their land, they have crops that they rely on for income and the safety of their workers is paramount. The RAF Police and Norfolk Constabulary will be conducting regular patrols of the area.
It has been reported to us that waste has been left behind from members of the public visiting the area to try to catch a glimpse of our aircraft. Whilst we appreciate that this behaviour is from a small minority this is not acceptable at any time and is not a risk that the landowners should have to take in the current climate.
It is imperative that everyone keeps to government guidelines to stop the spread of coronavirus, the latest guidelines can be found here www.gov.uk/coronavirus
We understand that this may be disappointing for some but the livelihood and the health of our local community must come first.
As always we will not be publishing aircraft movement timings. We would like to thank you all for your continued support.
