Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
We're coming up to Norfolk on holiday next week. Can anyone confirm whether the Marham Aviation Heritage Centre will be open for sure please, also where exactly is it situated please.
Many thanks.

Thanks everso. We don't do Facebook but have managed to find their opening times and emailed them for location details.
Re: Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
Visited the heritage centre yesterday, would recommend it to everyone here. Never been to a museum where they offer you tea or coffee on arrival, a very welcome addition after a 2 hour drive. Lots of photos and information to look around telling the story from the beginning up to modern day RAF Marham.
Well worth a few hours to look around.

The Heritage centre is brilliant .Lots of aviation parts you can actually touch and get up close to.
People in there are great also with some superb stories to tell also.

Re: Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
That links says: "Location: Close to the main gate of RAF Marham".
So you are correct - close.
Anyhow, thanks for going to the trouble of suggesting Google and for typing the link.
With many bases however, just saying close to the main gate does not help a visitor to know if it's inside or outside. Or if prior permission is required to get past the main gate. Maybe they do not want too many visitors :-)
Re: Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
If the main gate is on your right it's just after that turning, an old chapel to the right of sainsburys. Nice big sign on the wall with Tornado and Mosquito silhouette.
Re: Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
We are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 0900-1600. We are outside of the wire so no need to book, parking is available behind the shopping complex. We are also open the last Saturday of the month same timings.
Look forward to meeting you and the kettle is always on.

Our building is between the shopping complex and the main gate, the memorial garden is open all times.

Re: Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
Just back from my first visit to the Heritage center - I knew I could only go if the station was closed otherwise I would have ended up at the EOR as per usual!
What a brilliant place - loads of really good information dating back to Narborough right up to F-35B ops. Loads to read and also plenty of brilliant photos and exhibits plus some interesting volunteers who really know their stuff with experience of Valiant! Canberra and Tornado GR4 ops
If you are sitting at Lakenheath/Mildenhall on a quiet day wondering what to do then make a plan for the Marham heritage center
Will definitely be going back on my own to spend more time reading.

Hi,
Thanks for the great review. I’ve often pointed out if times are quiet on the fence we are more than happy having guys up for a brew and chat and use the facilities whilst hopefully enjoying our displays, and depending on which volunteers are in getting to chat with people with vast experience in many fields of Marhams history.
As you were undercover I do not know if chatted but next time you plan to come up drop me a PM ( I’m the one with beard and tattoos).
All the very best.

Re: Marham Aviaton Heritage Centre
We did chat briefly I think - I purchased a signed book
Will definitely drop in again for a brew and spend more time reading about the history of Marham and the types based over the years gone by.
Thanks
Mike
