To make sure I’m reading this correctly, is it just 10.30 - 11.00 hours that this is applicable for 22nd?

Possible practice for Disbandment parade or a similar maybe?

Could just be an excuse to throw them about a bit!

Looks like "role demonstration" to me.

Never mind the camera, this will live in the memory for ever.

Be interesting to see what NOTAM gets published for the 28th. Still aiming to head over for this, work permitting. Are these slots for a practise before the 28th or will it be just a 9 ship flypast and break to land?

The NOTAM is for a role demo tomorrow and Tuesday, nothing to do with 9 ship, as far as I am aware, of which very little is known apart from a 9 ship which will include a fly past at Cranwell. Keep looking at the fly past topic in the FC Mess, I'm sure details will be posted there once known

Tornado17, can you confirm this NOTAM is officially for a role demonstration tomorrow and Tuesday? It's a long way to travel back after being there on Tuesday, but I would go again for that in a heartbeat..

I've now heard it might be a practise for the 9 ship but not sure if that's a rumour or not. The NOTAM does state high energy manourves but a flypast is just that so who knows!! If you want to see Tornados, head down anyway, with a NOTAM up, there should be some flying and the odd 1 or 2 F35's too. I'm sure nore details will emerge as ths day gets closer. I've travelled 4 hours to get here and I'm doing it again next week!!

I heard that there were five due up for this tomorrow. Anyone able to confirm? Would they taxi south like they have the last three days, or just head straight to runway 19 as it's not an 'advertised' event. One last question - is the field open again?

Still believe this to be Role Demonstration/Airfield Attack, but "don't shoot the messenger".

Within 5 nautical miles is normal for attack.

Up to 450 knots, indicated air speed, is considerably more than would be used for a visual flyby.

Surface to 10,300feet above mean sea level is way too high for a visual flyby.

If the 26th is not a spare day, perhaps it provides an option.

I'm watching this closely and will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. If it happens again on the 26th I'll be making the near 8 hour round trip again as will be worth every mile to see my favourite air show display possibly take place one final time, when we never thought it would perhaps? It will truly be going out the right way if this happens!

Hopefully RAF Marham will issue a briefing about the nine ship on the 28th. Most likely require a NOTAM as it transits to Cranwell so time and route will be know.
Assume it would be normal for a formation like this to have a practise ?

NOTAM definitely, practice possibly. When they used Cranwell as the practice target for HRH Buckingham Palace last year the Tornado formation was absolutely perfect as they entered Lincolnshire - all others were all over the place.

Was thinking of your journey earlier - time will tell, but it may be the case that probable Role Demo, 22nd & 26th, are practice for the final final thrash on Thursday 14th March.

Hi mirage41, is there another planned "event" day on the 14th march aswell then? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I can't get time off work next week to get to either Cranwell or marham for the 9 ship flypast. If they are doing something else on the 14th march I may be able to get the day off and head to marham for it which would be great as I'm gutted I can't go next week.

Thanks
Martin

Thanks for your reply, could it be that the notamed possible role demos for today and Tuesday could be practices in preparation for the disbandment day? I think I may well try and get the 14th off and hope that something good happens anyway but would be good to know if something special is planned. Also I saw on another thread that a farmer has let people park in one of his fields, anyone know if parking has been an issue throughout the flypast days they have done, as I wouldn't want to travel and not be able to get anywhere near the base. Again any info is very much appreciated.

Thank
Martin

It all seems very quiet here at Marham. Would have thought engine noise would have been heard by now. Does anyone have any updates please?

As far as I know there has been no parking issues during the three finale flypasts as the farmer has kindly let cars park in the field you are referring to and also you can park in White road.

The Farmer has said that the same field can be used again on the 28 February ( 9 ship flypast) assuming it has not been sown ( or is a muddy quagmire from rain). I believe the farmers intention is to not allow people into the field at the end of 01 ( yellow fence) because that has been prepared for sowing so as I say he has kindly made the adjacent fields available near the taxi way

Edit : sorry this blurb is in reply to the penultimate post above.
