Re: Tornado last flights
Thank you EGVP. I should be more adventurous. What an amazingly cluttered way to present information. I appreciate you taking the time for me
Let us hope they fly on Wednesday afternoon.
Edited a little later. Middle Wallop! I have been meaning to see which airfield but never really took the time.

Nope, nobody knows! It's whatever the Station Commander has already announced publicly. It's a 3 ship photo ship, so who knows where they will go.csnewton2701 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 11:28 pmAny news on where they will be visiting?

Re: Tornado last flights
in relation to the flight this week, i think it's only a local sortie. some twitter posts by the station commander suggested there will be another base related flypast in february. it was being considered at leastJames Cutting wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 8:36 amNope, nobody knows! Re: Tornado last flights
Yes, a farewell flypast around a number of bases is on the cards for the end of February.

Re: Tornado last flights
So tomorrows the day, hopefully its a go ahead, i'm driving up from chelmsford, what time would you get there, i thought maybe if i get there at 9am, might see some other action f35/Typhoons from Coningsby maybe?
Also the station commander has said he will try get the tornadoes as close to the fence for us spotters as possible, does anyone know where this fence is?, they only time i have been to Marham is to park right down the end of the runway so i'm not too familiar with the best spots , i want to make sure i am in the best possible spot to see them.

Re: Tornado last flights
The field access has been blocked off since last week, which would indicate that the farmer/land owner does not want people in his fields at the 01 end, as discussed in another thread under 'RAF Marham' section.

Shame they had to slip 24 hrs - weather has been perfect today and looks cloudy for tomorrow.

"with kind permission of the landowner a Viewing/parking area has been confirmed on the grass verges along white road"
I read that as Viewing along white road? Not field?

it would. it's going to be first time up at marham (i know, god damn newbies) so i'm hoping we are allowed in the field
Re: Tornado last flights
Gents and ladies. A bit of promotion for ourselves. The Marham Aviation Heritage Centre is open tomorrow from 0900-1600. We are situated just outside the main gate and offer a warm welcome and possibly a brew if you are able to pop up. Further to that and for your info if unaware, the butty van opposite the main gate is open and there is also a Subway sandwich shop in the small shopping complex next to us. Hope that helps for those of you needing a refuel or warm up during the day.
Look forward to perhaps meeting a few of you in the centre.
