What a super day you had !!
To see three Special Tails was great.
Certainly better than the mainly grey `Blobs`
Hopefully I get as lucky with my trip there. Keeping an eye on the weather forecast,to decide when to go..
Haven't had my day yet, it's today! Just packing the thermos and hoping for more of the same :-)

Just a quick note to thank everyone on here for their help. Had my day out yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The fence down by the southern taxiway was a perfect spot. The Tornados taxied along the disused to back track up the runway rather than continue down the taxiway which put them slightly further away.

The layby on the 19 approach was also great later in the afternoon. Was there at 1250 for the first tornado coming back but the light was right down it's nose art that point so not great. Voodoo 1&2 did a lot of circuit bashing when they can't home around 1630 and it was lovely.

I'll post some pictures in the coming days when I get a chance to look at them 😁

How is it for photos if they're on the disused? Was going back today but your post has me in two minds now - sat at Mildenhall for the time being.

Still OK if you're towards the fork, but they get progressively further away rather than being at close-enough-to-touch-them distance.

320mm side on with crop camera.

Not great angle.

Is runway 01/19 still in use or has work on the main runway finished? Thanks.
