That was AWESOME!! Well Done Marham!!
More than I expected...
Anyone lucky enough to be at the end of the runway when they all lined up?

Well done RAF marham, what a send off. fantastic well done to all involved.

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Hope Morayvia are given one? Also seeing as they already have an F. 3, it would have been great to see a match set at East Fortune, doubt it will happen though.
Can’t say I’m happy about missing the flypasts.

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Incredible, but truly sad end. Wow.
Station CO walking the fence, shaking the hand and taking selfies with my mate who travelled from chicago just for today was just awesome.
If you read this forum, thank you for a send off we will never remember.
HUGE thanks to the farmer for his efforts for the event, even though some drove straight into his fields through the roped off areas! A great amount of money raised for a touching cause.

Cant thank the RAf for the effort that they put in today, simply overwhelming. Still finding it hard to take it that they will soon be legends of the past.

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Just got in now. What a day. A special mention has to go the landowner without whose co-operation today would have been impossible. The Station Commander? Well I can't remember the last time one came out and had a chat with the guys on the fence. A top effort from him and all his team. To be applauded.
As for the end? Well I heard many a call of "end of an era" and this jaded old spotter? Well let's just say there was some grit blowing around and some of it may have lodged in my eye......
That was my last chance today. They are gone and it IS the end of an era. We'll not see their like again.....
Pat
Oh and a mention for "Dave and group" (I think from Swindon) whose Chat and Banter kept all amused. Oh and he doesn't like cyclists

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Just to echo the above post ....Me and my son have just got back in from a memorable day. And thank god i went, a quick pint and bed, RAF Marham so proud of you ,Thank you ps you do not fly formation flying ..... you could have fooled me , superb cheers
Re: Tornado final weeks info
Yup, ditto to all the good stuff above. Particularly Stn Cdr Marham and PR team for keeping us all in the loop. PR also handed out a box of Tonka photos around the fenceline which went 'above and beyond' too. Also saw two sorties of F35's Weds / Thurs bashing the circuit, nice but not Tonkas! ...and no Nav either. End of an era and was worth every second if blinking cold!
Re: Tornado final weeks info
Just a shame that on our local BBC news reports it was once again inconsiderate car parking on A1122 that created stories and apparently brought the police into action.
