RTP is now completely finished with the last GR4 departing to Leeming a few months back.

RAF Honington are most likely going to be receiving ZG752 (Camo GR4) as a new gate guard.

The rest are all earmarked for preservation as far as I am aware. Some are going to Cosford. I think any serviceable parts of the remaining aircraft are being moved onto the German/Italian fleets of GR4's.
Most of the remaining frames WILL be RTP'd.
Hardly any will be preserved.

 Thank you TomMC.

I wasn't 100% sure, as was told several weeks ago. Cheers for clarification :thumb:

Afternoon all,

As posted elsewhere but a reminder if anyone is interested, the Aviation Heritage Centre at Marham, located outside the wire next to the main gate will be open tomorrow 28th from 0900-1500. Alongside our historic displays of the Station from 1916 to the present day including a large amount of Tornado specific exhibits we have some comfortable seating, toilets, a kettle (most important), memorabilia and are conveniently located next to the shopping complex which has a Subway fast food franchise and also opposite an excellent butty van for all your refuel requirements.

Have met a few of you over the last week or so and we hope to meet a few more tomorrow, staffed by volunteers and mostly ex Tornado. Swing by for a break and a chat if time permits as we await the 9 ship.

All the best and fingers crossed for the weather.

Apologies if this info has been posted elsewhere, but thought this might be helpful:

Flight Plan for today's finale from Wing Commander James Heeps, RAF Marham. [Facebook]

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=379532696110453
Officer Commanding IX(B) Squadron, Wing Commander James Heeps, would like to take you through the planned display at RAF Marham tomorrow. Please note if they need to use the runway in the opposite direction this route will be reversed.

We are expecting the 9 Tornado aircraft to take off from Marham at approximately 1400 tomorrow. The flypast of RAF College Cranwell will take place at approximately 1515. The 9 aircraft will then return to Marham at approximately 1520 to conduct a series of passes, as shown in the video.

We do not have any public viewing areas here at Marham and all of the land surrounding us is privately owned. The land owners at White Road and at the fence line opposite the entrance to White Road, just off the A1122 have kindly agreed to let people park and view from their land. Donations will be requested for the charity Moth in a China Shop on arrival, parking is at your own risk and you are to be aware that this is working farm land, please be respectful of the farm workers and their machinery.

It will be either 19 or 01, as per the OC's video briefing posted above. You can tell which end it is if you don't have a scanner by looking for the red and white caravan, it will be parked in the vicinity of the threshold of the active runway.

I hope you all have a great day. I would have been leaving now, but I slipped and dislocated my kneecap last night so spent the evening in hospital. Gutted to be missing out.

Noticed a cockpit section under a tarpaulin on a trailer driving past us in the field today.I hope it's going to a good home?

I assume it was the nose of ex TTTE GR.1 ZA356 heading to RAF Cosford which was used at Marham. As they Cosford have posted that has arrived

given the forecast for the wind direction this afternoon (12mph from the south southeast) I would expect runway in use to be 19 . I will update once the ATIS is up

edit atis up at 0805 runway 19 RH

The Tornados will be flying a left-hand circuit when they break to land.

According to various posts on social media, due to the weather, a decision on the flypast will be made at midday.. Could be social media led hype, be worth keeping an eye out on the Marham Facebook / Twitter feeds to see if any truth is there

Visibility at Cranwell certainly doesn't look promising at the moment. Fingers crossed!
