Tornado final weeks info
Re: Tornado final weeks info
Yep, pair of F-35s were up earlier
Re: Tornado final weeks info
Thanks Gary. Surprised there's no NOTAM's for this week or RAF Marham twitter yet ?
Re: Tornado final weeks info
Most of the flight will be in the East Anglian MTA, under the control of Marham LARS, it might be a case of not getting a route NOTAM. Although they should pass close to Fenland airfield. So some sort of NOTAM would be expected.

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Thanks for sharing the update Gary. So typical for the weather to be like this in the days prior.
Anyone got any idea on what tomorrow's plans are - a repeat of the five from last Friday, or might they add more jets to the formation work-up?

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Update for Thursday, taken from Marham Facebook page.
We are expecting the 9 Tornado aircraft to take off from Marham at approximately 1400 on Thursday. The flypast of RAFC Cranwell will take place at approximately 1515. The 9 aircraft will then return to Marham at approximately 1520 to conduct a series of passes, more information to be revealed tomorrow.
We do not have any public viewing areas here at Marham and all of the land surrounding us is privately owned. The land owners at White Road and at the fence line opposite the entrance to White Road, just off the A1122 have kindly agreed to let people park and view from their land. Donations will be requested for the charity Moth in a China Shop on arrival, parking is at your own risk and you are to be aware that this is working farm land, please be respectful of the farm workers and their machinery

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Thanks for the latest info from Marham and NOTAM. Latest weather for Thurs at Marham - early mist clearing, some light drizzle expected in the morning then a cloudy afternoon with the risk of showers, gentle breeze from West, Temp 10C. Given the last few days a bit disappointing but could be a lot worse in Feb

Re: Tornado final weeks info
Are the remaining Tonkas being scrapped at Marham or are they flying off to Leeming to the RTP facility? I know the Raf dont need any more parts but there are operators who do. Wondering if any will fly out after the 14th.

Re: Tornado final weeks info
RTP is/was due to finish this month at Leeming, And no jets have gone up there since December.
All disposals for whatever location and any remaining RTP is now done at Marham whatever is left goes to the scrappie elsewhere.

RTP is now completely finished with the last GR4 departing to Leeming a few months back.Tim Holden wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 9:16 pmAre the remaining Tonkas being scrapped at Marham or are they flying off to Leeming to the RTP facility? RAF Honington are most likely going to be receiving ZG752 (Camo GR4) as a new gate guard.
The rest are all earmarked for preservation as far as I am aware. Some are going to Cosford. I think any serviceable parts of the remaining aircraft are being moved onto the German/Italian fleets of GR4's.
This is from my understanding and what I've been told by others; happy to be corrected.
