F-35B Callsigns

Post by slogen51 » Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:29 pm

Not comprehensive but a list of the Marham F-35B Callsigns I have heard ( some only once)
Squadron allocation is inferred from the ops frequency used : Tallboy or Kestrel

Popular callsigns are Bolt, Doom, Darkness, Ghost and Marham

Bolt 207 Sqn
Bonza 617 Sqn

Cyclone 207 Sqn

Dante ( likely 809NAS) November 2024
Darkness 617 Sqn
Doom 207 Sqn

Fenton 617 Sqn
Firecrest 809 NAS 15/10/2024
Flame 809 NAS 30/09/2024

Ghost 617 Sqn
Gibson 617 Sqn

Jenkins ( likely 809NAS)

Leeroy ( likely 809NAS) 18/11/2024 and 08/01/2025
Lightning ( 12/12/2023) used Kestrel ops so should be 207 Sqn unless 809 NAS are sharing resources

Marham

Nitro 207 Sqn
Poker 617 Sqn 1/3/2021

SeaJet
Sneak 207 Sqn
Stealth 617 Sqn

Torch

Warman ? May have misheard?
Wildman 617 Sqn 9-1-23 and 8-11-24

Additionally Ascot and Rafair can be heard for delivery flights etc

None, suspect it may be the Lightning Force Commander.

Thanks . I wonder if Typhoon 01 is the Coningsby station commander or Typhoon force commander?

There isn't a Typhoon Force Commander, hasn't been since 2021.

617 Sqn - Bonza, Darkness, Fenton, Ghost, Gibson, Poker, Stealth, Torch, Wildman.

809 NAS - Flame, Monkey.

Firecrest currently working Cape Wrath, I'm assuming 809 NAS as definitely F35 radio.

Not sure which squadron, but "Dante" has been heard recently and today we`ve had "Leroy" and what sounded like "Jenkins", but it was hard to define the latter.

I heard "Dante" on 13.11.24 (think it was "Dante 21 Flt"), then it was reported on FC as being heard in use on 14.11.24 as well.

"Leroy" and "Jenkins"?? both heard today, the 18th.
