Request Mildenhall Sun 13/6/21

Post by SUNJETDK » Sun Jun 13, 2021 4:29 pm

Hi All,

A quick pass by Mildenhall at 1530 today allowed me to see the E-4.

As I was enroute to Norfolk with family and dogs in tow I couldn’t find a place to stop to read off the 3xC-17s on the ground at the time.

Needless to say the Kc-135s and OF (assumed RC135) went begging.

If anyone can advise me of the C-17 serials it would be very much appreciated . I can understand none of the KC135s on the ground would tied up, but just in case I thought I would ask in case anyone was at the base at this time.

Thanks in advance

P.s just couldn’t find somewhere to stop and wish I had done my homework for viewing places. Just could not find pollards lane even with satnav. Dumb I know but it was a fleeting visit

Hi,
I was there at about the same time and the 3x C-17A parked adjacent to the straight stretch of the A1101 were:
07-7173 (Dover) - closest to Mildenhall town
05-5144 (March)
07-7188 (Charleston)

There was another closer to the corner in West Row which you might have missed behind buildings: 08-8193 (McChord).

And a fifth parked next to the E-4B - which I didn't manage to read due to heat haze. If anyone has the ID of that one, I would appreciate it.

Morning SUNJETDK,

I always go to Folly Rd, you get a great view of most of the pan. If you want a view of the front of the base I just follow the road round and there are dips in the fence where you can see across. That's how I saw the RC parked last night.

All the best

Ant
