Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
Hi everyone. Wasn't sure where to post this. I am coming up to East Anglia for a few days and thought I would drive up to Mildenhall and Lakenheath to do some spotting. I haven't been to either of these bases before so I was wondering if any of you could give me some advice.
Where is the best place to park up? Am I likely to see any take offs/landings, I will be going up this coming Tuesday?
I saw on a thread posted a few years ago there is a car park by some traffic lights, but I have no knowledge of the area so any information from you would be really appreciated.
Many Thanks

Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
Your C-17 was 04-4136 of 305AMW (McGuire)
The five MC-130Js on "SOG Row" would have been 10-5714, 11-5731, 12-5759, 12-5760 (arrived back at 14.17) and 13-5786. 13-5778 did not return until 16.28.
Of the other three MC-130Js, 11-5737 and 12-5757 are on deployment, and 11-5733 is in the US.
Hope that helps,
Bob

Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
True but in my defence the links will show the original question poser that Thunder and Lightning also cover lots of other airfields and is a great resource for the spotter

Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
Your two missing KC-135Rs were 71483 (nothing to do with the SJs) and 38026 (which brought the 1st lot over)

Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
57-1483 arrived 02 Oct 12h50L as RCH140
Osprey with engine covers open was 08-0051. I have -0064 as the other gap in your list. RC-135W 62-4132 was on the field (arrived 12h47L). MC-130Js I noted in addition to your two were 11-5737, 11-5731, 12-5759 and 13-5786
Regards
Mark

Sunday 15th September and required plesse
Afternoon group
I thought I better make the effort to see the B52 before it left - sadly, with wife and children in tow it was a very brief stop at about 11am as the atmosphere was very frosty in the car!
Out of 6 MC130'S were the following
5713
5714
5737
5757
5778
Plus 1....can anyone I'd please
Didn't record the 100ARW
2 Maguire KC10
60030
60036
Plus of course the B52
Didn't attempt the CV22's as I cant afford a second divorce.
Any help with the elusive MC would be gratefully received

Awsome, thank you
Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
From which squadron is KC-135R 60-0363 that departed Mildenhall this morning?
Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
It had a blue tailband which, in theory, makes it 72nd ARS (the 74th being red).

Re: RAF Mildenhall Daily Log
Likely to be 64 14846, using c/s "Hardy"; 847 went east a while back.
