Parking at Maidscross Hill
Folks, accepting that the activity on Tuesday was an exception rather than the norm.
As one approaches the car park, on the left is a field with 6 horses in it. Access is through a gate which on Tuesday was blocked by a car blocking the gateway. The owner was understandably upset as she was unable to access the field to water and feed her animals.
Please show some consideration and don't just throw your car into the first available space.

I think you should get your fact's right, NO ONE parked in the Gateway, but there was One Person whom parked near where they wanted to refuel their horse's from. He duly moved when it was explained to himDave Smith wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 9:58 amFolks, accepting that the activity on Tuesday was an exception rather than the norm.

BUT when the Arrival's started people were parking, where the said guy had moved from. BUT in all that time did I see anyone parking in the Gateway.NO!! The people with the horses got 2 Lorries into where they wanted to go and out again
OK!! And to you Mike, don't judge until you know the REAL Fact's

Probably of more importance is the reckless, dangerous and illegal abandonment of vehicles along the A1065 by and under the 24 approach. It is a clearway and signed as such. Whether or not it happened this week I do not know as I have not been out but probably more than likely. Sooner or later a nasty incident is going to happen.

What was I thinking.
Expecting to find a spot at 05.20
I saw how people had parked and decided,Not for me.
I don't think the F-35's from Norway will have "the pull" that the AK F-22's had.
Let's hope we get some sensible parking during Cobra Warrior.
But I would not bet on it

Me neither, but hopefully not as bad as last year. In my humble experience, last year at LN during CW was the worst I've ever seen it there. Probably exacerbated by the more casual observers but horrendous non-the-less. I remember one day when there was parking either side of the approach to the viewing area, very nearly all the way to the Wangford junction and in places I would never have thought possible to park. I wasn't that bothered, mult-point turn and I went to watch the SP F16's at Mildenhall, a much more attractive option!

I take it from that unnecessary rant that you were the guilty party.Weazel69 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 11:21 amI think you should get your fact's right, NO ONE parked in the Gateway, but there was One Person whom parked near where they wanted to refuel their horse's from. I didn’t even bother going to see the AK F-22s arriving, even though I would have loved to.
I knew full well what carnage would ensue.
Sadly, this hobby is not confined to enthusiasts/spotters/photographers anymore.
The day trippers with their kids/wives/dogs are always prevalent thanks to social media.
And don’t get me started on the motor homes!

Re: Parking at Maidscross Hill
It's all very well saying the driver moved when asked - fine. But what if they had already walked away to the fence?
Anyway were there many people up on the warren for arrivals?
I was in the viewing area lane but I could see cars were parked on the verge of both sides of the A1065
