27th April 2022 The last four airworthy F-15C left the 493 FS

( Does anyone here have a date when they last noted 84-0001? Last noted on FC by Paul Coppin 14/4/21 - I last photographed it 7/2/20!)

Zero jets remain ( zero F-15C and zero F-15D) as at 12:00 27/04/2022

They replace 44 year old F-15C's. First F-15C fiscal year was 1978.

Did last week's departures ever move on from Lajes, and did anyone know the destination for today's flight? Was it Barnes again?

The three F-15s left Layes, destination USA, I don't know anything else.

Wasn't aiming for a definitive list of 493 FS eagles but must be getting close!

84-0001 was mentioned as a SBS sighting as part of the 6-6-21 D-Day flypast but I read off that 4 ship - Atari- and 84-0001 wasn't on it - the lead was 84-0027)

my last photo of 84-0001 was 15-12-2020

my photos of the D-Day flypast on 6-6-2019 (if that's what you're referring to, not 6-6-19) did not include 84-0001, I photographed the following as they returned:
84-0010 F-15C, the special scheme with the blue tail
91-0603 F-15E special scheme , yellow tail
97-0219 F-15E special scheme , red tail and
98-0134 F-15E standard grey scheme

No Phantoms flying active or reserve/ANG and not for a good few years. These will I suspect be to a later mod state and replacing older and lower Mod state ANG F-15's

They may not replace anything directly, just add to the numbers at ANG units so that the flying hours can be spread across more old airframes.

84-0019 has joined the 142nd FW, Oregon ANG at Portland.
