Thanks for the update and the serials.

When was 84-0001 last noted? Someone left me a comment on an Instagram post a few weeks ago saying that it won’t fly again and will leave as cargo.
If there is an unserviceable F-15C at Lakenheath surely a candidate for preserving on base ?

Neither are the MH-53 and F-111 already on display at Cosford, as well as several others. Cosford isn't just for British aircraft.

The RAFM are slowly getting rid of RAF-operated aircraft if the specific airframe has no, or indeed a tenuous, link to British military service. Why they've got an F-111 and MH-53, let alone a WC-130 nose section, is beyond me.

The F-111 since 2005 and the MH-53 since 2008.

F-15C Preservation

Post by F4JPhantomII » Thu Feb 17, 2022 7:03 pm

Reposting this from the Retro flight thread. I was told by a ground crew member in the viewing area a few weeks ago that Lakenheath are planning on preserving a C. They could replace the F-15A as the 493rd never flew them?
