Lakenheath - New to the forum new to scanning.

Post by tractaboy66 » Wed Aug 02, 2017 7:22 am

Been an aircraft enthusiast since a boy but only just now got to buy a scanner. On a camping trip to Thetford this month and wanted to get any advice on best viewing area for Lakenheath and can I use a scanner on the public car park viewing area?
Thanks.

Hi Tractaboy

Try this link to Perez's great web page - scroll down to the Lakenheath map and download it - also has all the frequencies on it and photography spots and the Park & View area

http://www.pb-photos.com/maps.html

Using a scanner is not a problem - just remember to take your rubbish home or dispose of it properly

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Hopefully get to see/hear some good stuff. Last visit there were no aircraft movements at all.

It was mid/late morning on a Friday - I think 5 May. Did see maintenance but nothing flew.

Thanks. Any advice on how to find out arr/dpt on 31 Aug-1 Sept? I'll be in the vicinity those dates.
