Base of the year inspection

Post by nigelblake » Sat Jan 10, 2015 10:07 pm

Besides the news that Mildenhall is closing and RAF Lakenheath is to get 2 squadrons of F35s, there is also news that RAF Lakenheath has tied in the 'Base of the Year' competition within the USAF and they have a tie-breaker inspection on Thursday 15th January.

It would be very good gesture from the spotting community if those of us that visit during next week make a special effort to be very litter conscious and make sure the spotters car park and adjoining areas where we go to watch and photograph the F15s there could be spotless on Thursday, and hopefully it may help them win!

Please pass the message around. Many thanks!

Well said Nigel but us spotters should always be litter conscious, not just on special occasions
The last time I saw an F22 at Lakenheath i DIDN'T photoshop it...

Yes I agree, but reminders need to be made now and then, more often than not its the casual visitors that are the problem not spotters. As I said in the original post, "It would be a good gesture"!

A tidy mind is a healthy mind, clean as you go, leave the place as you would expect to find it.. it's just common courtesy.

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
